We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in a fast-paced Food/FMCG production environment. This is a hands-on role with a slight mechanical bias, responsible for maintaining and improving our automated production equipment. You will be working on a variety of equipment including conveyors, baggers, and weighers, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery through both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance across the site. Diagnose and repair faults on PLC-controlled systems (fault finding only). Work on both single and 3-phase electrical systems. Perform PPM tasks and respond quickly to reactive breakdowns. Ensure minimal downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives. Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation. Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure engineering solutions meet operational needs. Experience / Skills / Qualifications: Time-served engineer (apprenticeship or equivalent). Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Experience with PLC fault finding (programming not required). Previous experience working in Food or FMCG environments. Knowledge of conveyors, baggers, and weighing systems is highly desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Proactive, reliable, and hands-on with a problem-solving mindset. Desirable Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (for electrically biased engineers)
