Mechanical Fitter Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established process manufacturing business based in Nuneaton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on, heavy industrial environment and wants a days-only shift pattern with no nights . You will be responsible for the day-to-day mechanical maintenance of a busy production facility, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery remains reliable and downtime is kept to a minimum. The role would suit someone from a heavy engineering, recycling, waste, aggregates, quarrying, food processing, chemical, manufacturing or similar industrial background who is comfortable working on a wide variety of mechanical plant and machinery. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive mechanical maintenance Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, motors and associated equipment Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems xdjnayx Install, maintain and modify new and existing plant equipment Carry out mechanical engineering routines in line with the site's maintenance programme Complete risk assessments before undertaking maintenance activities Complete maintenance logs, job sheets and relevant documentation Support other engineering and operational departments when required Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures
