A manufacturer and distribution business in Leicestershire is looking for a Site Logistics and Security Coordinator to manage the safe and efficient operation of its site. The role is central to controlling site access, managing vehicle movements, and coordinating between drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations. The position is based in the yard office and requires a proactive individual with a strong focus on safety and organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Banksman for all vehicle movements on site
- Carry out duties as First Aider and Fire Warden
- Ensure all visitors, contractors, and drivers report in and are signed in correctly
- Enforce Health and Safety and PPE requirements
- Control and manage vehicle and pedestrian movements within the yard
- Coordinate between external drivers and internal loading teams
- Manage traffic flow and signpost vehicles to designated waiting areas
- Carry out gate checks for external drivers once trained
- Act as site keyholder
- Operate site security systems including ANPR and CCTV
- Take responsibility for fuel and general site deliveries, confirming quantities and reporting to the transport team
- Receive and manage site consumables, checking quantities and storing correctly
- Manage returns and general yard stock movements
- Minimise unnecessary personnel movement within yard areas
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by site management
The ideal candidate
- Experience in a yard, logistics, transport, or site coordination role
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety in an industrial or operational environment
- Confident communicator with drivers, contractors, and internal teams
- Comfortable taking responsibility for site safety and security
- Able to start work at 5.00am
