We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join a busy manufacturer in Coalville. This is a practical, leadership role where you will guide a small maintenance team, take ownership of planned and reactive tasks, and set the standard for safety, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small maintenance team (Maintenance Manager, newly qualified engineer, apprentice, experienced engineer) on day-to-day mechanical tasks
  • Take a hands-on approach with breakdowns, PPMs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed and lead by example
  • Support team development through training, mentoring, and guidance
  • Manage job reporting and maintain accurate records
  • Organise spares, critical assets, and consumables
  • Assist with contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to site procedures
  • Stand in for the Maintenance Manager when required
  • Be part of the call-out rota (1 in /4)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Completed Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic knowledge with understanding of electrical systems
  • Proven experience leading or supervising a maintenance team
  • Ability to challenge and support team members to achieve performance and quality standards
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to cover on-call duties and overtime
