Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location: Kent Salary: Β£45,000 Shift Pattern: Days Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and growing fresh produce operation in Kent. This is a hands-on maintenance position suited to a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and wants to play an important role in keeping site machinery and equipment running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production and packing equipment. Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns. Complete preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. Support the smooth running of production and packing operations. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance. Work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Record maintenance activities and report any ongoing issues to the wider engineering team. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or similar environment. Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills. Experience working with production, processing or packing machinery. A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement. The ability to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety. What's on Offer?
