We are looking for a motivated engineering manager to join a market leading food manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the operations manager you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. Role Description
- Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team in daily operations, prioritizing safety, quality, and equipment uptime.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of food manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and sanitation teams to support manufacturing goals and food safety compliance.
- Manage capital projects including equipment upgrades, line expansions, and facility improvements.
- Maintain and improve automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) and integrate new technology to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, FDA, and other relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and manage budgets for engineering projects and department operations.
- Train and mentor engineering and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5-10 years of engineering/maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or bakery environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, production processes, and food safety standards.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Proven project management skills; PMP certification a plus.
