We are looking for a motivated engineering manager to join a market leading food manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the operations manager you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development, this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. Role Description

  • Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team in daily operations, prioritizing safety, quality, and equipment uptime.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of food manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and sanitation teams to support manufacturing goals and food safety compliance.
  • Manage capital projects including equipment upgrades, line expansions, and facility improvements.
  • Maintain and improve automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) and integrate new technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, FDA, and other relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for engineering projects and department operations.
  • Train and mentor engineering and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of engineering/maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or bakery environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, production processes, and food safety standards.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Proven project management skills; PMP certification a plus.
