We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering client specialising in hydraulic systems and mechanical assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter or Hydraulic Technician to join a growing team, working both in-house and on customer sites across the UK (with occasional international travel).
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position involving the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Assembly and testing of hydraulic power units (HPUs), cylinders, manifolds, and associated pipework
- Conducting quality checks to ensure systems meet technical and safety standards
- Supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT) and preparing equipment for dispatch
- Installation of mechanical and hydraulic systems at customer sites
- Fitting components such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings to specification
- Carrying out hydraulic flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning
- Fault finding, root cause analysis, and ongoing servicing work
- Performing both reactive and planned maintenance
- Producing detailed service and installation reports
- Maintaining accurate records for build, test, and service traceability
