We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering client specialising in hydraulic systems and mechanical assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter or Hydraulic Technician to join a growing team, working both in-house and on customer sites across the UK (with occasional international travel).

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position involving the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembly and testing of hydraulic power units (HPUs), cylinders, manifolds, and associated pipework
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure systems meet technical and safety standards
  • Supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT) and preparing equipment for dispatch
  • Installation of mechanical and hydraulic systems at customer sites
  • Fitting components such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings to specification
  • Carrying out hydraulic flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning
  • Fault finding, root cause analysis, and ongoing servicing work
  • Performing both reactive and planned maintenance
  • Producing detailed service and installation reports
  • Maintaining accurate records for build, test, and service traceability
