A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team in the Doncaster area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer seeking a varied role that combines both workshop and field-based work.
The role offers a strong work-life balance with an early Friday finish, regular overtime opportunities, and the chance to work on projects both across the UK and occasionally overseas.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 1:30pm
The Role
- Mechanical fitting, assembly, and installation work
- Carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work on customer sites
- Approximately 70% workshop-based and 30% service work
- Occasional travel throughout the UK and overseas
- Working independently and supporting projects from build through to installation
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or similar engineering role
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Flexible attitude towards overtime and occasional travel
- Strong mechanical assembly and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both in the workshop and on customer sites
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Package & Benefits
- Salary of up to £36,000
- Company van or pool vehicle provided for service work
- Overtime available regularly
- Weekdays: 1.5x after 38 hours worked
- Saturdays: 1.5x
- Sundays & Bank Holidays: 2x
- Early finish every Friday
