Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum DOE

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: In Commutable Distance To Bedale (Darlington)

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing specialist engineering business looking to appoint an experienced Generator Service & Commissioning Engineer with a strong electrical bias. This role would suit an engineer who can hit the ground running and has solid experience working with generators across installation, commissioning, and servicing activities.

The Role

  • Electrical-biased engineering work (approximately 80/20 or 70/30 split)
  • Installation, commissioning, and servicing of generators
  • Mechanical fitting and commissioning of generator systems
  • Working primarily across Yorkshire, with occasional site work further afield
  • Exposure to high-voltage systems
  • Working with Deep Sea control panels
  • Fault finding, testing, and commissioning of generator installations

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with generators
  • Able to work independently and hit the ground running
  • Time-served engineer or hold relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Strong electrical background with mechanical competence

Team Structure

  • Reporting directly to a senior engineer
  • Working closely with one other engineer as part of a small, experienced team

Package & Benefits

  • £40,000 to £45,000 basic salary (DOE)
  • Overtime available, paid at 1.5x (up to 40 hours during summer periods)
  • Company vehicle provided for business use
