A well-established industrial manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical background who enjoys fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance within a heavy industrial environment. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial plant and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Maintain and overhaul equipment including drive shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains and gearboxes.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves and hoses.
- Apply structured fault-finding techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment.
- Proven fault-finding and repair experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and associated components.
- Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent (preferred).
Desirable
- Understanding of industrial electrical systems.
- Experience working with three-phase motors and variable speed drives.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems.
- Understanding of safe isolation procedures.
- Basic electrical fault-finding capability.
