We are working on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business in Greenock who are looking to strengthen their engineering function with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias). This is a days-based role within a stable, growing operation and offering long-term security.
The Role
- Reporting into the Chief Engineer and working closely with the wider engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
- Attending and resolving machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site equipment
- Prioritising reactive work in line with production targets
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Working on a variety of process and packaging machinery, including:
- Steam boilers
- Compressors, pumps and valves
- Conveyors, weighers and packaging machines
About You
- To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
- Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing
- A proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving
