We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a busy and well-established manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a forward-thinking business where you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving production equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and efficiency across the site.
The Role
Working as part of the engineering and maintenance team, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities across a range of automated production machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
- Minimise downtime and support continuous production
- Maintain and improve automated machinery and control systems
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment
- Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
- Assist with continuous improvement and process optimisation projects
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
About You
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on engineer with strong fault-finding ability and experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Apprentice trained or engineering qualified
- Strong electrical maintenance background
- Multi-skilled with good mechanical knowledge
- Experience fault finding on production/manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems
- Ability to read electrical and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Desirable Experience
- Experience within automated manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems
- Previous involvement in continuous improvement activities
