We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Ely. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically and mechanically skilled engineer looking for a stable role within a fast-paced production environment. You must live within a commutable distance to Ely and be comfortable working a double days rotating shift pattern.

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving site machinery performance, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fault finding and repair on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Maintenance of high-speed production machinery
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
  • Electrical work including 3-phase motors, inverters, sensors, and control panels
  • Mechanical work including bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • PLC fault diagnosis (Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar)
Experience & Skills:
  • Experience in FMCG or high-speed manufacturing environments (preferred)
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems for diagnostics
  • Experience maintaining die cutters, folder gluers, printers, stackers, or conveyors (advantageous)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC diagrams
Qualifications:
  • Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Relevant qualification: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition or equivalent electrical certification (desirable)
Salary & Benefits:
  • £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
  • Double Days - Rotating Shift Pattern
  • 40 Hours a Week
  • 2 × 15-minute breaks per shift
