We are looking for a motivated HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing business within the commercial vehicle sector. Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. You will be involved in all aspects of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. With ongoing training and development opportunities, this position will suit a skilled technician looking for a long-term career within a supportive and professional environment.

Role Description:

  • Conducting routine inspections, servicing, and diagnostics on HGVs
  • Carrying out reactive repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Welding, fabrication, and assembly of vehicle components
  • Reading and interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams
  • Repair and maintenance of auxiliary equipment including excavators and forklifts
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety procedures
  • Supporting workshop housekeeping and operational standards
  • Providing excellent customer service and repair updates

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Welding, fabrication, and soldering experience desirable
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment
  • Knowledge of excavator and forklift repairs advantageous
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
