We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Calibration & Compliance Engineer to join our Engineering team in Birmingham. Reporting to the Senior Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of our UK manufacturing facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with strong knowledge of calibration, preventative maintenance planning, and compliance management within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all manufacturing instrument and process tooling calibration activities and databases
- Oversee condition monitoring contracts and maintain associated systems
- Coordinate insurance inspection schedules and ensure certification compliance
- Ensure full compliance with internal and external PPM and calibration audits
- Develop and improve calibration and condition monitoring programmes
- Liaise with insurers and external contractors regarding legislative inspections
- Establish and report on KPIs to monitor engineering performance
- Support Continuous Improvement Systems (CIS) and TPM activities
- Benchmark engineering practices across group sites and external organisations
- Source materials and resources, raise purchase requisitions, and manage procurement processes
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained
- Recognised qualification in Lifting Equipment Inspection
- Experience managing calibration compliance and PPM systems
- Strong understanding of legislative and insurance compliance requirements
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- CMMS database management experience
- Boiler operation and management knowledge
- High Voltage Authorised Person qualification
- Experience within a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
