We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful engineering operation based in Burford. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled engineer looking for a stable days-based position, with the added benefit of regular overtime opportunities to increase earnings.
The Role
- Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and safe operation of a range of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Working on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, motors and associated mechanical equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Minimising machinery downtime and maintaining production efficiency
- Working safely and in line with company procedures
- Assisting with installation, modification and improvement of machinery where required
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in an industrial, manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
- You should have:
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualifications or apprenticeship
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A proactive approach to maintenance and reliability
- Good health & safety awareness
