Responsibilities
- PLC programming and fault-finding (from scratch and existing systems)
- HMI software development and modification using Siemens
- HMI software development and modification using Allen Bradley
- HMI software development and modification using Omron
- Assisting with the development and improvement of automation infrastructure
- Supporting and delivering project work
- Electrical (EL) systems involvement
- PLC functional flow (FF) programming
- Software alterations and optimisation of existing programmes
- On-site installation support and commissioning activities
- Supporting breakdown response and improving PPM efficiency
Travel Requirements
- UK & Ireland travel (approximately 50% field-based)
- Very rare international travel (approx. 3 times per year) to headquarters and manufacturing base in Japan
Skills, Experience & Background
Essential:
- Strong PLC programming and fault-finding capability
- Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and/or Omron systems
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a new role
Ideal Backgrounds:
- Recently completed an apprenticeship
- Field Service Engineer
- Maintenance Engineer with strong PLC FF and programming skills
Industry Experience (preferred):
- Food, FMCG, Pharma, Packaging
Training & Development
In-house training alongside experienced field engineers
