This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior engineer looking to build a long-term career within an international engineering business offering structured training and rapid progression.
Reporting directly to the Technical Director, the Junior Project Engineer will support the successful delivery of customer projects from initial sales support through to installation and handover. The role combines project engineering, customer interaction and technical support, providing exposure to all stages of project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the delivery of engineering projects across the UK and Ireland.
- Producing and maintaining engineering drawings using CAD.
- Supporting PLC-based automation projects.
- Assisting with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Pre-Production Inspections (PPIs) and commissioning activities.
- Preparing project documentation and customer handover packs.
- Liaising with customers throughout project delivery.
- Supporting OEM partners, suppliers and third-party equipment manufacturers.
- Providing technical support to the Sales Engineering team.
- Visiting customer sites for installations, meetings and project support.
- Occasional international travel to Japan and other global subsidiaries for training, product development and project activities.
About You
Essential:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or Automation Engineering.
- Graduate or up to 3 years' engineering experience.
- CAD experience.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machinery or industrial automation.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally internationally.
Desirable:
- Experience within Food, FMCG or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of OEM machinery.
- Leadership experience through work, university projects or extracurricular activities.
- Understanding of project documentation, FATs and commissioning processes.
