We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in the service, installation, and maintenance of pump systems across sectors including commercial, water treatment, utilities, and manufacturing.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their South West service team.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on field-based role where you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of industrial pump systems at customer sites across the region. Working independently and alongside a wider engineering support team, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair:
    • Centrifugal pumps
    • Submersible pumps
    • Positive displacement pumps
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on-site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Install and commission new pump systems and associated equipment
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures

About You

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused engineer with strong fault-finding ability and previous experience working within a field service environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working on industrial or commercial pump systems
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • Background in field service, maintenance, or installation engineering
  • Good understanding of hydraulics and rotating equipment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Desirable Qualifications

  • IPAF Certification
  • Confined Space Training
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
