Overview

An established and highly regarded control systems engineering company based in Bristol is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative solutions across a wide range of industrial automation projects. This is not a "copy-and-paste" engineering environment - engineers are actively involved in designing systems from the ground up for diverse industrial applications.

The Role

You will work across a variety of projects spanning multiple sectors, contributing to everything from initial concept through to commissioning. Projects may include hardware design, software development, and full turnkey solutions. Industries supported include:

  • Defence
  • Nuclear
  • FMCG
  • Special purpose machinery
  • IIoT
  • Packaging
  • R&D

This role offers excellent variety and the chance to develop technically while working with modern tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control systems from concept through to delivery
  • Produce detailed schematics using industry-standard CAD tools
  • Support project delivery across multiple sectors
  • Participate in occasional site visits and client engagement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards

Requirements

  • 2-6 years' engineering experience
  • Proficiency with EPlan and/or AutoCAD
  • Understanding of system safety and relevant standards (e.g. BS EN 60204)
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
