The Role

  • Full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the batching plant, overseeing production output, site safety, people management, and operational efficiency.
  • A visible, hands-on leader who sets the standard on site and drives performance across all areas of the operation.
  • Taking full ownership of batching plant performance, output, and operational KPIs.
  • Leading and developing a site-based team across production and maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring the site operates in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Managing plant maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and minimise disruption.
  • Overseeing mix designs, batch production targets, and quality control processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across batching and production processes.
  • Liaising with senior management and reporting on plant performance.
  • Managing site budgets, costs, and resource planning.
  • Building a strong safety-first culture across the whole operation.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing a batching plant, concrete plant, or heavy aggregate production operation.
  • Strong technical understanding of batching plant equipment, mix designs, and production processes.
  • Experience managing site-based teams across production and maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance in a heavy industry setting.
  • A confident, decisive leader who can drive culture and performance simultaneously.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
