Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:15am-4:45pm, Friday 8:00am-2:00pm

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business, recently supported by new ownership, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Management Accountant to strengthen their finance function during a period of growth. This role would suit a qualified or part-qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with production and operations within a hands-on manufacturing environment.
The Role
- Supporting production and manufacturing accounting activities
- Standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis
- Work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and revenue recognition
- Inventory control, stock valuation, and material usage reporting
- Month-end close, management accounts, and production cost reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives
- Analysis of overhead absorption, labour efficiency, and machine utilisation
- Working closely with production, engineering, and operations teams
- Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP); IFRS knowledge beneficial
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience
- Manufacturing or metals engineering background preferred (fabrication, machining, job shop)
- Strong understanding of production accounting and manufacturing finance
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling
- Commercially minded with a strong attention to detail
- Confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Hands-on approach with a genuine interest in shop-floor processes
