An established engineering organisation is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to support and oversee workshop operations within a busy industrial repair environment. This position focuses on leading a team responsible for the inspection, overhaul, and repair of a wide range of rotating and mechanical equipment.

Role Overview: You will supervise day-to-day workshop activity, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role involves both hands-on technical involvement and coordination of team workload.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of workshop technicians
  • Allocate tasks and monitor progress of ongoing work
  • Review and organise job documentation and reports
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members
  • Carry out inspection, fault diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain quality standards and adherence to safety procedures
  • Assist with complex rebuilds and technical problem-solving when required

Equipment & Work Scope:

  • Industrial motors (single and three-phase)
  • Gearboxes and drive systems
  • Pumps and fluid handling equipment

Requirements:

  • Strong background in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in a workshop or repair environment
  • Proven ability to supervise or lead a team
  • Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
