The Role
We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a leading heavy industrial manufacturer. This role is key to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery across the site.
You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, working on a range of heavy plant and manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all machinery
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
- Repair and maintain heavy industrial equipment
- Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors
- Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
Requirements
- Multi-skilled engineer (electrical or mechanical bias)
- Experience within heavy industry / manufacturing (e.g. steel, cement, recycling, aggregates)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with PLC fault finding (desirable)
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent)
- Welding
