CV Technical are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the Redditch area who are looking to add an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Supervisor to their engineering team.
This is a hands‑on supervisory position working permanent nights, where you'll lead the engineering team while still being involved in maintenance, fault finding and breakdown support across the site.
The Role
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering function during the night shift, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed effectively and production downtime is kept to a minimum.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising and supporting the maintenance team on nights

Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance

Responding to breakdowns and supporting fault finding
-
Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is completed

Allocating work and prioritising breakdowns
-
Diagnosing faults across production machinery

Working on motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics

Electrical fault finding, sensors, drives and control systems
-
Supporting PLC fault finding and diagnostics
-
Completing shift handovers and maintenance records
-
Identifying recurring faults and driving improvements
-
Working closely with production to minimise downtime
-
Ensuring engineering work is carried out safely and to a high standard
The Person
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor who has previous experience within a manufacturing environment and is comfortable taking responsibility for an engineering team.
You’ll ideally have:

Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing

Experience supervising, leading or mentoring engineers

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills

Experience with planned and reactive maintenance

A recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship

Good knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors and drives

PLC fault-finding experience would be advantageous

A proactive approach to maintenance and breakdowns

Good communication and leadership skills

The ability to work independently and make decisions during a night shift
