Salary: £15.50-£18.50 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 48 hours per week | Rotating 12-hour shifts

Shift pattern: 06:30-18:30 / 18:30-06:30

We are recruiting for an experienced Flexographic Print Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment specialising in flexible packaging.
\n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced printer with a strong background in flexographic printing who takes pride in producing high-quality work, maintaining production efficiency and meeting strict customer specifications.
\n
The Role
\n
As a Flexographic Print Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a wide-web flexographic printing press, producing high-quality designs across a range of flexible plastic substrates and paper.
\n
Key responsibilities include:
\n
- \n
- \n
Setting up and operating flexographic printing machinery to produce high-quality designs up to eight colours.
- \n
Maintaining excellent standards of print quality, accuracy and productivity.
- \n
Optimising press speeds to maximise output and minimise downtime.
- \n
Monitoring the printing process, identifying potential issues and troubleshooting problems.
- \n
Escalating maintenance issues and working with the relevant departments to resolve production problems.
- \n
Reporting quality concerns that could affect finished products.
- \n
Working with solvent-based inks and ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements.
- \n
Carrying out basic maintenance and cleaning of printing machinery.
- \n
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and completing 5S activities.
- \n
Completing thorough shift handovers to ensure a smooth transition between teams.
- \n
Supporting and training new starters where required.
- \n
Following BRC procedures, health and safety requirements and established quality standards.
- \n
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the production process.

About You
\n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
\n
- \n
- \n
3-5 years' experience in flexographic printing.
- \n
Experience operating wide-web flexographic printing presses.
- \n
Knowledge of lamination and slitting processes.
- \n
Experience with print mounting processes.
- \n
Knowledge of solvent-based inks and flexible packaging materials.
- \n
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- \n
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- \n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- \n
A proactive approach to maintaining production efficiency and minimising downtime.
- \n
An understanding of BRC standards and safe working practices.
\n
