We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic on behalf of a well-established industrial and manufacturing business with multiple sites across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company operating within essential sectors including food production, agriculture, and renewable energy.
The successful candidate will join a busy transport and maintenance team responsible for ensuring vehicles and trailers are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
The Role
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of HGV vehicles and trailers to ensure reliability and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, servicing, and repairing HGV vehicles and trailers
- Carrying out pre-MOT inspections in line with DVSA/VOSA standards
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing repairs efficiently
- Completing required maintenance documentation and paperwork
- Maintaining high standards of garage housekeeping and safety
- Supporting with additional workshop duties when required
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Industry recognised qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Previous HGV mechanical experience
- A full UK driving licence (HGV Class C+E desirable but not essential)
- Strong mechanical diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of health & safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
