An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support operations across production in the Chesterfield area. The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance activities across both sites, ensuring production equipment and facilities remain operational and compliant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance of manufacturing machinery and site equipment
- Maintenance and servicing of vacuum packing machinery
- Upkeep of portioning and dosing equipment
- Maintenance of checkweighers and metal detection systems
- Servicing of labelling and coding equipment
- Maintenance of conveyor systems (belt and slatted)
- Automated slicing machinery maintenance
- Tray sealer servicing and repairs
- Building maintenance and fabrication work within competency limits
- Maintenance of roller shutter doors, fire exits, and access points
- Servicing of forklift trucks, pallet trucks, and lifting equipment
- Site facilities maintenance
- Building Management Systems (BMS) support, including fire alarms and automated lighting systems
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in an Engineering discipline
- At least 2 years' experience within a UK manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to production breakdowns
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, meat processing, or a similar regulated production environment would be highly advantageous.
