Shift Engineer
Location: Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire (LE14 Area)
Salary: Up to £49,120 per annum (including shift allowance) + Excellent Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights) - 6:00am to 6:00pm / 6:00pm to 6:00am
The Opportunity
A well-established and highly respected food manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern production facility in Leicestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer looking to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where reliability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across production equipment.

Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise downtime through effective fault finding and repair.

Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on a range of manufacturing machinery.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise plant efficiency.
About You

Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.

Experience working within a manufacturing, food, FMCG, packaging, or process environment.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience.

Ability to work effectively within a rotating days and nights shift pattern.

A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
