Maintenance Engineer - CNC Manufacturing

Location: Nottinghamshire
Salary: £44,000 per annum
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x, Sundays at 2x

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established specialist manufacturing business.

The company operates a modern production environment with a strong focus on quality, reliability and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with experience in CNC machinery maintenance who is looking for a varied role working across both electrical and mechanical systems.

You will be responsible for keeping production equipment running efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting ongoing improvements across the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service and repair CNC machinery and associated production equipment.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Undertake 3-phase electrical maintenance.
  • Fault-find and repair control panels and control systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain and repair gearboxes, pumps and motors.
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement and engineering projects.
  • Identify recurring equipment faults and recommend improvements.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Work closely with production colleagues to improve machinery reliability.
  • Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.

About You

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer with previous experience in a CNC or precision manufacturing environment.

You should have experience with

  • CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
  • Industrial machinery maintenance.
  • 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Control panels and control systems.
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Gearboxes, pumps and motors.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Machinery breakdowns and fault finding.

Candidates from manufacturing, engineering, automotive, precision engineering or other highly automated production environments are encouraged to apply.

You should be practical, proactive and confident working independently to diagnose faults and get machinery back into production.

Shift Pattern

The role is predominantly day shifts, with 1 week in every 4 working on afternoon shifts.
