An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and process manufacturing equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise workload effectively.
- Support production by minimising downtime and maximising equipment performance.
- Participate in an on-call rota as required.
- Complete engineering projects assigned by management.
- Work closely with suppliers to improve service levels and reduce costs.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and site procedures.
About You
- Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (HNC/HND, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, GMP, or similar high-volume production environments.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, electrical controls, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using CMMS or electronic maintenance management systems is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Multi-skilled engineering background.
- Experience working on COMAH-regulated sites.
- Previous experience in continuous-process manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant engineering experience.
