We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong manufacturing background who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers to develop practical engineering solutions, produce detailed manufacturing drawings, and support projects throughout the full design lifecycle.
The Role
- Working directly with customers to develop engineering solutions
- Supporting the quoting and tendering process
- Producing conceptual designs for bespoke machinery/equipment
- Creating detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings to BS8888 standards
- Producing accurate bills of materials (BOMs)
- Ensuring designs comply with industry regulations and standards
- Providing regular project updates and obtaining customer approvals
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to manufacture
Requirements
- Apprenticeship / Time Served engineering background
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of Milling & Turning processes
- Experience using 2D & 3D CAD packages such as: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Edge
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings
- BOM creation experience
- Previous ERP/MRP system experience would be advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers directly

- Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
