The opportunity: We're working with a well-established heavy industry manufacturing supplier based in Doncaster to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent, days-based contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy production environment, where planned and reactive maintenance is critical to keeping operations running. What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
  • Working on heavy industrial machinery including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Supporting and working alongside electrical maintenance colleagues on cross-discipline tasks.
  • Completing accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental standards on site.

What we're looking for:

  • Recognised engineering qualification - City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC, or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Solid experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Comfortable fault-finding independently and under pressure.
  • A proactive, safety-first mindset with good attention to detail.
  • Multi-skilled engineers with some electrical awareness are particularly welcome.
