Salary: Up To £49,400 + Overtime (1.5x)

Hours: 50 hours per week (7:00am - 5:00pm)

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established industrial business within a heavy plant environment. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Welder Fabricator who is confident working on large machinery and carrying out heavy-duty welding and fabrication. You will be a key part of the engineering team, helping to maintain and improve plant equipment in a busy, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, testing, repair and installation of motors and gearboxes
  • Working on conveyor systems, including bearing maintenance and removal of spill points
  • Carrying out heavy-duty welding and fabrication (MIG & Stick - TIG desirable)
  • Supporting plant improvements and mechanical upgrades
  • Attending breakdowns and completing planned maintenance tasks
  • Working closely with site management to ensure maximum uptime

Skills & Experience

  • Time-served Mechanical Fitter / Welder Fabricator
  • Strong background within heavy plant or industrial environments
  • Proven experience with MIG & Stick welding (TIG desirable)
  • Confident working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes and bearings
  • Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous)
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to hit the ground running
