The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established industrial business within a heavy plant environment. This is a hands-on role for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Welder Fabricator who is confident working on large machinery and carrying out heavy-duty welding and fabrication. You will be a key part of the engineering team, helping to maintain and improve plant equipment in a busy, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance, testing, repair and installation of motors and gearboxes
- Working on conveyor systems, including bearing maintenance and removal of spill points
- Carrying out heavy-duty welding and fabrication (MIG & Stick - TIG desirable)
- Supporting plant improvements and mechanical upgrades
- Attending breakdowns and completing planned maintenance tasks
- Working closely with site management to ensure maximum uptime
Skills & Experience
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter / Welder Fabricator
- Strong background within heavy plant or industrial environments
- Proven experience with MIG & Stick welding (TIG desirable)
- Confident working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes and bearings
- Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous)
- Proactive, adaptable and able to hit the ground running
