We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in St Austell. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with strong Multivac packaging machinery experience to join a stable team working day shifts, supporting the reliability and performance of key production equipment.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment through both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Provide specialist technical support for Multivac packaging machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs to restore production operations.
- Maintain and support industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia plant equipment where required.
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to meet production and quality standards.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems across production lines.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering (or equivalent).
- Essential: Proven experience maintaining and repairing Multivac packaging machinery.
- Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems or industrial refrigeration.
- Experience with production machinery, conveyors, packaging equipment, and automated systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
