We are recruiting for a Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within the food manufacturing and packaging sector. This is a hands-on role combining both on-site installation work and field service support, offering variety and technical challenge.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, Day shifts

The Role

This is a 50/50 split between site-based project work and field service engineering. You will be involved in building, installing, maintaining, and fault-finding on food processing and packaging machinery across the UK, with occasional travel to Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Panel wiring and electrical assembly (site-based work)
  • Service, maintenance, and repair of food and packaging machinery
  • PLC fault finding and diagnostics
  • Work with inverters, single-phase and three-phase motors
  • Attend breakdowns and provide timely technical support
  • Support installation and commissioning of machinery
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Engineering discipline
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally within the food industry
  • Experience with PLC fault finding
  • Strong electrical skills including panel wiring
  • Knowledge of inverters and motors (single & three phase)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally
