We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop & Field Technician / CNC Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong CNC maintenance and fault-finding experience who enjoys a mixture of workshop-based and field-based work.
The role will involve preparing, testing, installing and supporting a range of CNC machinery across customer sites throughout the UK:
- Preparation and testing of CNC machinery including routers, lasers, fibre lasers and tube cutters
- Electrical fault finding both remotely and on customer sites
- Reading electrical diagrams and measuring currents, signals and NO/NC circuits
- Carrying out machine improvements, upgrades and modifications
- Working with servo motors, inverters, PLCs, macros and CNC parameters
- Tramming, squareness checks and machine calibration
- Supporting machine installations and commissioning across the UK
- Providing training and support on CAD/CAM software and machine operation
Requirements:
- Time served engineer with 2-5 years' experience working on CNC machinery
- Strong CNC maintenance and fault-finding background
- Good understanding of electrical components and control systems
- Experience working with PLCs, servo drives, inverters and CNC controllers
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot effectively
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
- Comfortable travelling and staying away when required
