We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Toolmaker to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment supporting high-volume production.
You will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of press tooling, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime across production.
Key Responsibilities- Manufacture, maintain, and repair press tools to a high standard
- Fault finding and problem-solving on tooling issues
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all tooling
- Support production teams with tool changeovers and improvements
- Work with engineering and production to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
- Proven experience as a Press Toolmaker (progression, transfer, or blanking tools)
- Strong understanding of press tooling, dies, and associated machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Skilled in manual machining (milling, turning, grinding)
- Experience with toolroom equipment and fitting techniques
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience within high-volume manufacturing (automotive, aerospace, etc.)
- Knowledge of CNC machining
- Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
