We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Field Service Engineer with a strong electrical bias. This is a varied and hands-on role combining installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and customer support, alongside involvement in machine build and development.

This position offers a great balance between site-based work and field service, with opportunities to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out installation, commissioning, and servicing of specialist machinery at customer sites
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
  • Respond to breakdowns within 24-48 hours
  • Perform planned maintenance and preventative servicing
  • Deliver customer training on safe operation and basic maintenance
  • Support in-house manufacturing activities, including wiring, control panel assembly, and machine build/testing
  • Assist with development and troubleshooting of control systems, including some programming work where required
  • Travel across the UK regularly, with occasional European travel (2-3 times per year)
Role Details
  • Approximately 50% site-based / 50% field-based
  • Candidates must be located within 1 hour of the company's site
  • Regular UK travel with occasional international trips
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Field Service Engineer or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering role
  • Strong electrical bias with good mechanical understanding
  • Experience with control systems and wiring/control panels
  • Basic programming knowledge (e.g. C++) or willingness to learn
  • Full UK driving licence
