We are currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing operation in Telford, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights. This is a hands-on maintenance position where you will play a key role in keeping site and production equipment running efficiently, minimising downtime and delivering sustainable repairs and improvements.

The Role

  • Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment, including:
    • Conveyors
    • Injection Moulding
    • Extruders
    • Mixers
    • Coolers
    • Laminators
    • Cutting Lines
  • Key responsibilities will include:
    • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
    • Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs across site and plant equipment.
    • Carrying out Root Cause Analysis, including 5 Why, to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
    • Implementing sustainable corrective actions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Accurately recording maintenance activities through the CMMS system.
    • Maintaining and updating relevant technical documentation and procedures.
    • Proactively highlighting engineering and process concerns.
    • Supporting continuous improvement across the site.
    • Working closely with the wider maintenance team and transferring knowledge and skills to apprentices and colleagues.
    • Completing agreed training and development to further enhance your technical skillset.

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical maintenance background, ideally gained within a manufacturing or production environment. Essential requirements include:

  • Time-served apprenticeship to Level 3 standard, or equivalent, in Electrical Maintenance/Engineering.
  • Current Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Comfortable using PCs, mobile devices and maintenance systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
