Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £49,649 per annum
Shift: Permanent lates, 4:00pm - 1:00am

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Derby.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a busy production environment.
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair.
- Diagnosing faults on PLCs, SCADA systems and PCBs.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Maintaining and repairing conveyors and packaging machinery.
- Maintaining sealing and vacuum-packing machinery.
- Prioritising maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
- Liaising with suppliers and external service providers.
- Identifying and ordering replacement parts and equipment.
- Supporting the engineering team to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
About You
- Knowledge of BS 7671 / IET Wiring Regulations, or equivalent.
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems and PCBs.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with conveyors and packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of sealing and vacuum-packing machinery would be advantageous.
- City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and reduce equipment downtime.
- Good communication skills when working with internal teams and external suppliers.
