A well-established and growing organisation based in London is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its Finance team on a fixed-term contract (12 months). Supporting a workforce of circa 200–250 employees, this role will work closely with Finance and HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, benefits administration, and reporting. The role will suit a Payroll Specialist with previous experience in a standalone capacity and is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong systems and Excel skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing including joiners, leavers, and monthly updates
- Liaise with external payroll providers and ensure data accuracy and deadlines are met
- Administer employee benefits including pensions, Cycle to Work, and season ticket loans
- Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and reports for management accounts
- Handle payroll queries and support year‑end processes including P60s and P11Ds
What Experience is Required
- Proven experience in a payroll-focused role (ideally as a Payroll Manager or Payroll Specialist)
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes
- Experience with Sage payroll and intermediate Excel skills desirable
