CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Financial Accountant for a well-established civil engineering business in Northampton. You will report directly to the Finance Director. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who wants to move into a more commercially focused role. You'll support project finance, month-end and financial controls, and work closely with commercial colleagues across the business. The role offers a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 plus an excellent benefits package. It suits a proactive person who is keen to develop and progress their career.
Duties & Responsibilities
Check weekly subcontractor payments against timesheets and review supplier and subcontractor onboarding
Help prepare management reports and project finance packs, and analyse data to spot trends and overspend
Complete month-end on time, including management accounts, VAT returns and reconciliations
Work with the commercial team to improve cash collection
Drive process improvements, support external audits and provide ad hoc finance support across the business
What Experience is Required
Newly qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (candidates currently studying will be considered)
At least 2 years' experience in an accounting or commercial finance role
Advanced Excel skills and the confidence to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
