Finance Manager - Charity
Coventry (Hybrid - 1 day per week from home)

CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Finance Manager on behalf of a well-established national charity based near Coventry. Our client is a membership organisation that helps people and communities grow in ways that support nature and biodiversity, backed by respected research and education work. This permanent role pays £35,000 - £40,000, with one day per week working from home. It combines hands-on leadership of a small finance team with close work alongside the Finance Director. It's a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional who wants their work to make a real difference, and a four-day week would also be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Take ownership of month-end, producing accurate management accounts, reconciliations and project-level reporting
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, working with budget holders to explain variances and agree actions
- Oversee payroll, VAT, Gift Aid, membership, grant and donation income, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Manage, coach and develop a small finance team
- Act as the main contact for the annual audit and drive improvements to financial systems and controls
What Experience is Required
- Broad financial management experience across management and statutory accounts, cash flow, reporting and compliance
- Part or fully qualified accountant, or qualified by experience, with strong Excel and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central skills
- Experience leading a small team; charity sector knowledge and SORP are desirable
Salary & Benefits
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role is permanent with one day per week working from home. A four-day working week would be considered for the right candidate.
Location
Coventry, with one day per week from home. This is an easy commute from Kenilworth, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Nuneaton, Bedworth and Hinckley. A UK driving licence would be useful.
