CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Youth Employment Adviser on behalf of a well-established Birmingham charity supporting disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. Based in East Birmingham, with regular outreach across local communities, this full-time role pays £30,000 and is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a Government-backed supported employment programme. You'll help economically inactive 18–25-year-olds into work and support them to stay there, making a real difference to young people's futures. It's ideal for someone who combines strong employer engagement skills with a genuine passion for inclusion.
Duties & Responsibilities
Engage eligible young people and local employers and bring them onto the programme
Provide one-to-one support, including employment profiling, action planning and benefits and back-to-work calculations
Build employer relationships to uncover vacancies, match clients to roles and carve jobs around their strengths
Offer in-work support to help clients stay in employment
Keep accurate case records and produce reports for managers and funders
What Experience is Required
Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health or other health conditions in an employment-focused setting
A track record in employer engagement, recruitment or sourcing jobs for clients
Confident IT skills, a flexible approach and the ability to travel locally (an enhanced DBS check will be required)
Salary & Benefits
£30,000 per annum for a full-time role of 36.5 hours per week. This is a fixed-term contract to March 2028, with the option to extend subject to funding, and you'll join a supportive, mission-driven team.
Location
East Birmingham, with regular work at community venues across the east of the city. Easily commutable from Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Castle Bromwich, Chelmsley Wood, Coleshill and Erdington.
