Office Purchasing Assistant – Part Time

Location Newcastle under Lyme
Employment: Permanent with temporary probation period
Overview: A well established family‑run electronics business, offering a 4‑day working week, flexible hours and part‑time or full‑time options. Working as part of a small team, looking after reception, taking phone calls and assisting visitors while handling purchasing duties.
Responsibilities
- Send order acknowledgments and support accounts
- Generate quotations to Bill of Materials
- Create and process purchase orders and compare vendor quotes
- Maintain and update supplier records, track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs, follow up on delayed or missing deliveries and help manage inventory levels and reorder supplies
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies
Skills and attributes required
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail, basic knowledge of procurement systems, organisational and time‑management abilities
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work on own, a good office all‑rounder with excellent administrative skills and a desire to move into a stock, purchasing role
Hours
Between 8.00 – 5.30 Monday to Thursday (can be negotiated to fit). Hours can be flexible, Part time or Fulltime.
