The Role

We are seeking a skilled MIG welder to join our growing client’s manufacturing team in Longton, Stoke on Trent. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations using primarily MIG welding techniques, fabricating and assembling metal components, working from technical drawings and specifications, utilising hand tools, power tools and welding equipment efficiently, conducting inspections of welded joints to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised work environment, and collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Skills and Attributes
- Fully experienced in MIG welding steels up to 12mm thickness.
- Ability to weld other materials such as stainless steels, alloys.
- Fully competent in the use of hand and air tools.
- Ability to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings.
- Capable of working to demanding deadlines.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of assembly processes and sheet metal work.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to welding environments.
- Previous experience working with sheet metal, fabrication projects, or similar roles is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
The Hours
No weekends and early finish on a Friday Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 5.00pm Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm
