We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to lead the delivery of engaging, family-friendly and community programmes across our museums and heritage sites, as well as delivery offsite in community venues. This role focuses on inspiring diverse audiences—from early years to older adults—through high-quality workshops, activities, and events, against financially sustainable models that can generate income or funding opportunities.
You will play a key role in planning and delivering public-facing sessions, building partnerships with artists and community organisations, and supporting and coordinating volunteers. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll manage bookings, oversee programme logistics, and ensure a welcoming, safe, and accessible experience for all participants.

Overall purpose and objective of the role: To lead the delivery of high-quality family-friendly and community programmes across CV Life museums and heritage sites, ensuring engagement with diverse audiences, from early years to older adults. The role includes workshop and activity planning, public-facing delivery and volunteer coordination.
Main duties of the role:- Lead public-facing engagement and deliver high-quality sessions for diverse audiences, from early years to older adults, supporting the successful family and community programmes across CV Life’s museums and heritage sites.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, confidently adapting delivery style across a range of environments, including museums, community venues, care homes, and partner organisations.
- Manage enquiries and bookings with strong administrative efficiency, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and record keeping.
- Build and facilitate collaborations with artists, freelance specialists, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance programme content.
- Train and support volunteers and session facilitators to ensure high-quality programme delivery.
- Represent the museums at community events, promoting opportunities and building strong local relationships.
- Work closely with the Learning and Engagement Manager to develop and deliver content for the Coventry HAF-funded programme.
- Collaborate with curators, exhibitions teams, and front-of-house staff to ensure community voices and needs inform displays, interpretation and programming.
- Gather, review and respond to participant feedback to continually improve delivery and annual programme review.
- Maintain safeguarding, health & safety and accessibility best practice for all family and community audiences.
- Participate in occasional weekend, evening and overnight working as required by the programme.
- Work to a delegated budget, planning and sourcing resources efficiently.
- Schedule programmes, book spaces, order materials, and coordinate operational and logistical arrangements.
- Uphold high standards of delivery, professionalism, and visitor experience across all aspects of the role.

- Knowledge of museum, heritage, or cultural sector practice is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with funded programmes, such as Coventry HAF, is desirable.
- Experience in gathering and responding to participant feedback to inform programme development.
- High quality and engaging facilitation.
- Competent in working to a delegated budget and planning efficient resource use.
- Confident in representing the organisation at community events and public engagements.
- Ability to work unsociable hours/weekends and be on call to attend at short notice.
