We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and experienced professional to take charge of day-to-day workshop operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and compliance of a small fleet of tipper and hydraulic crane lorries, ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and operating efficiently. It's a hands-on position that plays a key role in supporting the wider transport and logistics function. About the role * Oversee repairs and maintenance of a small fleet of tipper and hydraulic crane lorries * Manage compliance processes including PMI inspections, MOTs, tacho checks, and defect reports * Respond to vehicle breakdowns and call-outs, ensuring minimal downtime * Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostics and repairs (including welding/fabrication) * Supervise workshop operations, maintain accurate records, and support transport compliance About you * Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems * Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues * Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks * Welding and fabrication skills * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Strong communication and management skills * Current Class 1 and 2 driving licence * Proficient use of Microsoft applications * Previous experience of managing a workshop is essentials Benefits: * Company van * Company pension * Continuous CPC training * Employee discount
