A trusted principal contractor with over £150m of major refurbishment works currently in progress wishes to appoint a Technical Services Manager to strengthen their operational teams.
The projects secured are interesting and varied refurbishment schemes ranging in value from £20m - £60m. They are within the prime residential, hotel, and commercial sectors in Central London.
As the Technical Services Manager, your experience will encompass the refurbishment and fit-out sectors. A background in complex and challenging cut and carve projects will be vital in order to succeed in this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Tender and Pre-construction
- Subcontractor selection
- Setting up systems for testing, inspections and commissioning
- Attend site meetings with site staff and subcontractors
- Monitor subcontractor performance and installation quality
- Advise construction team of programme issues and subcontractor performance
- Supervise the snagging and defect, in co-operation with the Contracts Manager
- Coordinate testing/witnessing and commissioning of HVAC and electrical works associated with the contract
This opportunity will suit candidates with a strong understanding of coordinating both mechanical and electrical services. You will ideally have at least 10 years' experience with a main contractor and have a relevant qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
